› Description
The members of the Palythoa genus are the largest Zoanthid species. The Giant Sun Polyp Palythoa grandis is the largest one, with a huge oral disc reaching 5 cm in diameter. They inhabit the deep hard bottom reefs of the Gulf of Mexico. Living in deep waters they prefer lower lighting and a moderate water flow. They are pretty robust and benefit from food for a rapid growing.
