Coral Biome is a marine biologist and aquaculturist owned Company dedicated to serving European aquarists with the highest-quality cultured corals. Our farm is a national-certified facility aquaculturing marine life in Marseille, France. Our primary focus is on Caribbean soft corals; especially zoanthids, Ricordea and other rare corallimorphs.
Conservation of biodiversity
Through asexual cloning, we encourage the distribution of these animals to researchers, hobbyists, and public aquariums. We believe that diversifying the number of cultured coral species available in the aquarium trade is the only alternative to bring about a decrease in the collection pressure on wild populations. As marine biologists, we put the conservation of biodiversity first and foremost.
Working in conjunction with Coral Morphologic in Miami, we seek to create a link between marine life collectors and scientists in order to better understand and control the impacts of the aquarium trade industry on wild marine life populations.
All of our specimens are collected and farmed in a legal and environmentally ethical manner.
We are developing a living genetic database and DNA barcode, phylogeography and biological assays of coral species from the Caribbean Sea.The final aim of this committed program is to improve our scientific understanding of the coral biodiversity in this highly endemic area, while also increasing the appreciation and conservation of these fascinating and under-studied anthozoans.
We will only sell corals in perfect health that have been carefully farmed in our state-of-the-art facility. The Coral Biome team is committed to making sure that you are fully satisfied with your order.
